Blue Throated Macaws

This oil painting was created by Bob Elgas of Grants Pass, Oregon.

Blue Throateds (Ara glaucogularis), caninde macaws, are smaller than the Blue & Gold macaw, and have a high shrill call unlike anyother macaw. Also, they are more lively and clownlike.

Their numbers in the wild are estimated at between 100 and 1000.
